good sidearm is a basic requirement for an adventurer these days. Laws regarding carry and concealment of firearms vary from place to place. A town may require you to turn in your weapons to local law enforcement for the duration of your visit. Some hotels enact such policies for the safety and convenience of their guests.

pirit Guns are a new class of weapon. They are enchanted firearms that have a magical effect. Anyone can use these.
Spirit Gun operation: The gun provides the effect, you provide the power. Spirit weapons have a metal plate that must be in contact with the wielder's skin. When you pull the trigger you channel the energy that produces the effect. Attacking is similar to casting a spell. First your base attack roll (the part not including any modifiers) must achieve at least 1 success or the weapon fails to fire and you receive a Stun wound. Just like spells, receiving a stun two rounds in a row will cause physical damage
If the weapon fired, then you compare your Attack versus the opponent's Dodge, and events proceed as usual.
Boomstick
6D Fire bolt, unlimited rounds
4D Fire ball, requires 2 successes, detonates on impact
Listen up. This is a damn fine weapon as long as you don't hoist with your own petard, if you catch my drift. I'm sure your buddies will appreciate it also.
Boomsticks are favored more by sportsmen and gun enthusiasts. Militaries do not use them generally. Spirit guns take more care to operate and maintain. Besides, bullets are proven and reliable technology.
Spirit Guns are custom made until the 1880's, after which they will be manufactured.

Special, Heals
Range 20m
Healing requires touch. Even when you are using magical healing you have to set broken bones and hold closed deep wounds (after cleaning them) if you want the patient to heal properly.
What this weapon does is minor healing at range. It accelerates the healing process and stimulates the target. While technically the target is not yet healed, they act as if they are. For gaming purposes you can pretend the wound is gone.
A successful "attack" with this weapon removes one wound, level Injured (2) or lesser. Each point of Effect Value removes one more. If uninjured the target receives the pseudo-wound levels Invigorated, followed by Euphoric. (See Over Healing)
